Plans are nice and necessary, but, as you all know, they don’t always work as you… well… planned. When we pray, we don’t always get the answer we want, but are we willing to accept the answer we’re given? Continue reading

I promise I’ll post a video of Noah soon – really.
But last night Hannah really wanted to show us this song that she learned at school so, of course, I whipped out the video camera and recorded it for posterity. She was so proud of herself

Resurrection Eggs
Another video! I know – amazing.
We got this set of Resurrection Eggs a while back from Kristi’s mom (I think), and Hannah really loves them. They’re great memory cues for kids – or adults – to go through the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. This is the story as told by Hannah. Impromptu filming before bed one night in March. I love this kid

Schulanfang
Hannah had her big “Schulanfang” (start of school) party on Saturday (August 23). This is a BIG deal here in Germany! We got a lot of good advice from our German friends on the dos, don’ts, and customs – otherwise our poor daughter would have really been outta luck. Enjoy the video! And yes, I just realized that I misspelled “kids” as “kinds” at one point in the video. Sorry – German on the brain, I guess. ["Kind"(ger) = "kid" (en)] (click on “Read More”)

So, I’m told I have a blog?
Yes – it’s been a while since I posted – ouch.
[However, if you want to keep up with my (Steve's personal) doings and thoughts, you can follow me on Twitter - I update that throughout the day. If you don't know what Twitter is, or don't "get it", click here.]
To answer the questions from a few of you loyal readers out there, and cover a few quick topics for future posting:
- All of us are definitely still alive and healthy
- We did actually make it back to Dresden after furlough
- Noah is growing and walking and not quite talking (hasn’t chosen a language, we think)
- Hannah has started the 1st grade (a whole post coming on that one)
- The church here in Dresden is still looking for a new location
- The church here in Dresden is getting tired of hearing, “What? You’re a church? No – I’m not going to rent this place to you.”
- We’re both really benefiting from private German lessons we started a couple months ago
- All of our bikes were stolen. From in front of and behind the church building.
- And, etc.
So – expect some more news (ie, signs of life) from us coming soon, as well as an actual newsletter update!! (can you believe it!?)
Bis bald.
